Hand it over now. Leave something you can check later.

You hand over a particular version. Cloud keeps a record you can check. Later, someone with a copy can compare it against that record without uploading the actual file to Cloud.

OrbiFabric Cloud is coming soon. This site is informational only; account creation, sign-in, trials, and subscriptions are not yet available.

Deliver → record → compare
Cloud Witness
  • Exact version
  • File fingerprint and time
  • Signature and recorded state
A checkpoint for later

The comparison says what matches.

Checking a report months after delivery

You still have the delivery record and a candidate copy. The product identifies that copy locally, then checks it against the recorded information.

How you continue

  1. 01

    You hand over one version

The product computes a file fingerprint, also called a digest, on the device. It describes the exact object for comparison.

  2. 02

    Cloud keeps a signed record

The record includes the digest, recorded time, signing information and the supported state of that online action.

  3. 03

    A later copy is compared

Digest, signature and state checks each have their own result. Read all the relevant checks together.

The file stays with its holder. The record can be checked.

A public link exposes only the information needed for the public check. Knowing that link does not grant access to private account records or the file.

If something gets in the way

The version does not match

Check which version was handed over. A changed file can have a different record.

The record cannot be found

Check the link with the sender. An unavailable record is not a successful verification.

You need private details

A public link shows only the limited public record. Private records still require permission.

A few things you may be wondering

Does Witness keep the original file?

No. It keeps the identifying record needed for comparison. Your actual files remain outside OrbiFabric Cloud.

Does a matching record mean the content is correct?

No. It does not establish factual correctness, absolute authorship or legal validity. You still need to review the content and who supplied it.
